Wonderhill Freedom Riders

Wonderhill Farm’s Freedom Riders offers therapeutic riding and equine-assisted therapy for veterans of all ages and abilities. We focus on healing the whole person – mind, body, and spirit – through tailored horse-assisted therapeutic experiences.

Therapeutic Riding – helps veterans reduce anxiety, anchor their focus in the present, build a sense of safety through predicable routines, and benefit from stabilizing rhythmic movement – while onboard a horse.

Equine-Assisted Therapy – Involves working alongside a counselor/pastor and partnering with horses to develop interpersonal skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, build inner resources, reclaim control, and help veterans forge a new identity.

Our program targets the physical, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual healing of an individual via horse-centered therapy. The movement of the ride and the connection with the horse does the work. And, equine-assisted talk therapy supports in the mental health journey and trauma recovery.
